Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1
Colombo / Airport to Sigiriya via Dambulla Royal Cave Temple
Morning pickup from CMB Airport or Colombo hotel. Scenic drive to Dambulla to explore the UNESCO World Heritage rock cave monastery featuring 153 Buddha statues and centuries-old mural frescoes. Continue to Sigiriya hotel for evening relaxation overlooking the jungle horizon.
Day 2
Sigiriya Lion Rock Citadel to Sacred City of Kandy
Early morning ascent of Sigiriya Lion Rock before the midday heat to admire the royal water gardens, mirror wall, and summit palace ruins. Midday transit towards Kandy with a stop at Matale fragrant spice gardens. Evening visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and leisurely walk around Kandy Lake.
Day 3
Kandy to Ella Highlands via Ramboda Falls & Nuwara Eliya
Ascend into the misty central highlands. Marvel at Ramboda Falls, tour an authentic colonial working tea factory with a private tea master tasting session, and drive through Nuwara Eliya (Little England). Arrive in Ella for golden hour views of Ella Gap.
Day 4
Ella Iconic Landmarks to Airport or South Coast Drop
Morning excursion to photograph the world-famous Nine Arch Viaduct as the blue highland train crosses, followed by an easy hike up Little Adam’s Peak for panoramic ridge views. Afternoon comfortable transfer to Colombo Airport (CMB) or your South Coast beach resort (Mirissa, Tangalle, Galle Fort).
